Great Parks In Canberra
Tunnel Park, on Lake Burley Griffin
Stroll along Alexandrina Drive and you will come accross a small park with stone towers and underground tunnels. Great for the kids to explore.
Museums in Canberra That are Good for Kids
Canberra has a number of interesting museums and galleries. Many are free or have a minimal cost, they are in-door and have a special area dedicated for children making a visit with toddlers bearable.
War Museum,Treloar Cres, Campbell
You probably would not think about taking toddlers to a War Museum however, this one has a good interactive area for children of all ages called the Discovery Zone. The children can sit in a helicoptor, dress up and explore the area. The Discovery Zone is only open to the public on weekends and weekdays 12.30 - 1.30pm. Admission is free.
The Mint, Denison St, Deakin
If your child is interested to see where coins are made, this is a fun, free activity. If you visit on a weekday the equipment will be on and working. You can even mint your own $1 coin (for a cost of $3....)
Museum Of Democracy, Old Parliment House, 18 King George Terrace, Parkes
This museum has a well thought out clue hunt for children to follow. It also has a childrens area including dress ups, art and craft, books and interactive activities. Admission is $5 per family.
